Country music star Miranda Lambert has traded in the bright lights of Nashville for the quiet life on a farm in Tennessee, where she lives with her husband, Brendan McLoughlin. In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, Lambert opens up about her new life on the farm, her love of animals, and her plans for the future.
Living the Farm Life
Lambert says she and McLoughlin are loving their new life on the farm. They have plenty of space to roam, and they enjoy spending time outdoors with their animals.
"We're pretty chill," Lambert says. "We like to get up in the morning, feed the animals, and then just kind of hang out and see what the day brings. It's really nice to be able to just relax and enjoy our time together."
Love of Animals
Lambert has always been a lover of animals, and she now has a small zoo on her farm. She has horses, dogs, cats, and even a few pigs.
"I've always loved animals," Lambert says. "I grew up on a farm, so I'm used to being around them. They're just such a joy to be around."
Plans for the Future
Lambert says she and McLoughlin are planning to start a family on the farm. They're also hoping to expand their animal family.
"We're just taking it one day at a time," Lambert says. "But we're really excited about the future. We love our life on the farm, and we can't wait to see what the future holds."
