Liverpool 1-0 Wolves: Player ratings as Stefan Bajcetic impresses again

Liverpool ended their long wait for a Premier League win as Stefan Bajcetic’s first-half header secured a much-needed 1-0 victory over Wolves at Anfield. The Reds had not tasted success in the league since beating Manchester City on October 16, but they produced a dominant display to see off Wolves and move up to eighth in the table.

Bajcetic, making his first Premier League start, was the unlikely match-winner, heading home Darwin Nunez’s cross in the 12th minute. The young Spaniard was impressive throughout, showing composure and maturity beyond his years.

Kelleher’s error: Who should start in Liverpool’s goal?

Caoimhin Kelleher has been one of Liverpool’s most consistent performers this season, but his error against Wolves has raised questions about whether he should remain the club’s number one goalkeeper. The Irishman spilled Matheus Nunes’ shot into the path of Hwang Hee-chan, who slotted home the equaliser.

  • It was a costly mistake from Kelleher, who has otherwise been excellent this season.
  • Alisson Becker is now fit again after a spell on the sidelines with a hamstring injury.
  • Jurgen Klopp has a big decision to make about who will start in goal against Brighton on Saturday.

Slot and Hughes charm offensive: Liverpool’s transfer plans for January

Liverpool are reportedly planning a charm offensive to try and sign Cody Gakpo and Jude Bellingham in January. The Reds are long-term admirers of both players, and they believe that they can finally land them next month.

Gakpo is a versatile forward who can play on the wing or as a central striker. He has been in excellent form for PSV Eindhoven this season, scoring 13 goals in 17 appearances.

Bellingham is a highly-rated midfielder who is seen as one of the best young players in the world. He has been a key player for Borussia Dortmund this season, and he has also impressed for England at the World Cup.
